Sort It Showdown

A word flashes up in the middle: is it a noun, a verb or an adjective? Both teams race to sort it. First correct answer takes the point, but a wrong tap locks you out and gives the other team all the time they need. First to 10 points wins the showdown.

How to use this in class or at home (a quick guide)

Built for an interactive whiteboard or a shared tablet: one player (or team captain) stands at each side. Naming word classes quickly is core SATs grammar, and the lock-out rule rewards children who check ("could I put THE in front of it?") before they tap. Every word was picked so one class clearly fits best.
